Tea and toast, a staple in British food culture. But who’s responsible for making sure our shop floors are stocked and bread bins are brimming?
Meet Warrens – one of our newest customers, specialising in the flow of fresh baked goods across the country and beyond. With over 60 years in the industry, and after recently making Prologis RFI DIRFT their new home, we thought it only right to shed some light on their operations, and what makes Warrens the ‘bread winner’ of the logistics industry.
Owned and operated by Culina, another Prologis customer at DIRFT, Warrens Group is a family-run, intermodal supply chain provider, offering transport, logistics and warehousing across the UK, France, and more widely across Western Europe. Working with some of the biggest grocery names in the country (Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose to name a few), it is operated by a 180+ strong fleet, making sure everyone gets their toast on the table!
Supporting its longstanding presence in the industry, Warrens, like Prologis, is committed to staying ahead of the game. In line with our own business goals, Warrens and Culina are both dedicated to improving the efficiency of the nation’s supply chains. Combining innovation and technology to track orders on the go and easily locate pallets in the warehouse, their pallet-centered supply chain model is designed to minimise delays and maximise profits for customers. Specialising in perishable and short dated items, we worked with Warrens to make sure their two units, DC6 and DC7, featured refrigerated units to preserve and maintain stock – a non-negotiable in everyone’s books!
From reducing food miles to delivering on-the-job PPT and forklift training, Warrens and Prologis have a number of shared interests. Whether it’s working with our customers to achieve their sustainability goals on the road to net zero, or supporting their workforce with skilled employees straight from our own Prologis Warehouse and Logistics Training Programme, we aspire to make every customer relationship the perfect match.
With a number of exciting projects coming our way in 2023, we’re thrilled to have Warrens join us for the ride. Find out more about their operations here.
